I was born and raised in Avon, Indiana. I love making music, and most of all, I love helping others capture their music in recording. I attended DePaul University in Chicago, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Sound Recording Technology with a minor in Physics (micro electronics), and completed a Master of Science in Music Technology at IUPUI in 2011. I am currently a PhD student in Music Technology at IUPUI focused on defining the fundamentals of music technology pedagogy, with a targeted graduation date of 2024.
Starting in 2003, I interned at the Static Shack in Indianapolis. In this unique opportunity, I was able to assistant engineer on multiple projects including Bob and Tom Camel Toe and Sideshow, Pat Godwin Under the Bed, Heywood Banks Pretending I’m not Home and Bob and Tom Live Day performances by David Lee Roth, Cheap Trick, and John Mellencamp. My first independent record as an engineer was Seven Degrees From Center Arion. I moved home to Indianapolis permanently and took on my first co-production work with Thief in the Night Midnight Redemption.
From 2004 to 2017 I was an Application Specialist with Steinberg Technical Support providing nationwide support for the recording software programs Cubase, Nuendo, and Wavelab. In my nearly 13 years I provided support in over 130,000 cases.
In 2006, I designed and helped build the studio for Big Walnut Studios where I was the head engineer. I engineered and co-produced 3 Max Allen albums, Earthwalker, Uphill, and Ending Sun, and albums for Twin Cats, Shadyside Allstars, Adrian Kolbo, Glass Halo, and many more. I mixed music for Walk the Moon I Want! I Want! and worked with Three Dollar Bill comedy to create an original cast recording to their musicals School House Wrong, Hoosiercle, and School House Wrong 2, all performed to sold out shows at Indy Fringe festivals. I currently play guitar at Red Curb Comedy creating original, improvised musicals.
Beginning in 2017, I am the Music Technology Coordinator at IUPUI. I am focused on supporting our faculty and students in their work in music technology and music therapy.
